Gray polybutylene installed from the late 1970s through 1995 goes brittle and fails without warning, and galvanized steel in pre-1960s homes corrodes shut from the inside and kills your pressure. We repipe in PEX or copper, coordinate drywall repair, and can phase the work if you need to spread the cost.

That sulfur smell is hydrogen sulfide, and it is extremely common on private wells around Dade City, Lacoochee, Trilby and rural San Antonio. Sometimes it is the water source; sometimes it is a reaction between your water heater's anode rod and bacteria in the tank. If only the hot water smells, the anode rod is the likely culprit and it is an inexpensive fix. If hot and cold both smell, you are looking at well treatment or aeration. We can test and tell you which it is.
